She also focuses on the company’s commitment to One Planet Living and how B&Q can enable customers to achieve one planet homes.

She has been with B&Q for nearly 5 years. Prior to joining B&Q Rachel worked in the paper industry for M-real at their office paper-recycling mill in Kent where her work focused on product development and environmental management.

Liz joined BT in 1980, working in different procurement roles including strategic sourcing, marketing communications, IT and global networks.

More recently Liz is responsible for sustainability in procurement across BT, working with global buying teams and Corporate Social Responsibility specialists. She leads on procurement strategy and policy on labour standards, climate change, environmental management and supplier diversity.

Liz worked on the Government Task Force on Sustainable Procurement, representing BT on the Suppliers Working Group.

She also represented BT on the Global e Sustainability Initiative- Supply Chain working group who developed the e-tasc supplier assessment system.

Liz represents BT on the MSD UK Board.

Liz has a degree in chemistry and is a member of CIPS the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

With over 20 years of international business experience, Trevor has worked with a variety of leading clients on multi-year transformational programmes in R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain. Clients have included Unilever, Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser and Mars where Trevor has helped executive teams and senior managers formulate and execute strategies for improving new product development and introduction in areas such as open innovation, modular design, insight and product lifecycle management (PLM).

Prior to consultancy he worked in the automotive and aerospace industries on projects such as saving the world one day of oil production by making cars lighter, and improving reliability for the Space Shuttle. In 2008 he joined the Corporate Johnson and Johnson Environmental, Health and Safety organization as Senior Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. As such, Jack is responsible for the deployment of the corporate EHS strategies in the region and represents Johnson and Johnson in various trade associations. He is also engaged in various LCA and Environmental Product Information Scheme projects in the region

Prior to this role, Anabel was Finance Controller of Timberland Spain for 8 years. Before joining Timberland she spent 3 years in Mexico in a Spanish chemistry company after finishing her degree in Economics and a master in International Cooperation.

The Unit achieves this by working with all the stakeholders that govern economics and market systems, including legislators, financiers and companies, so that business can be helped to work for a sustainable future. Specifically, he leads work on One Planet Economy, One Planet Finance, and One Planet Business. He also leads the change agenda for WWF’s business work and partnerships.

Before joining WWF, Oliver gained ten years’ experience of managing change in industry and the public sector, as an associate for Booz Allen and Hamilton and as the senior strategy advisor for the BBC World Service. He has worked internationally in many industry sectors and to achieve objectives including corporate value, social development and environmental protection.

Simon Houghton-Dodd graduated from Southampton University in 1981 with a degree in Physiology & Biochemistry and has worked for Tate & Lyle for 11 years. He is currently Head of Quality & Sustainability for Tate & Lyle Sugars, responsible for all technical, environment & sustainability issues across the business as well as working with his colleagues in other divisions to set Group minimum standards. During his time at Tate & Lyle his involvement in CSR issues has increased year on year with 2007/2008 being particularly active. In this period he has rewritten the group’s environment mission statement and policy completed the first assessment of the group’s carbon footprint, both of which have just been published in the group annual report. He has worked with URS & The Carbon Trust to validate the footprint of our retail sugars.

A graduate of Comenius University, London School of Economics and Princeton University, Pavel Misiga worked as an environmental consultant, activist and government official in his home country Slovakia. He served as advisor to the State Secretary for environment and later he represented Slovakia in the EU accession negotiations dealing with issues related to the environment. Since 2003 he has worked for the European Commission, first at Directorate-General for Regional Policy where he was responsible for the implementation of environmental projects financed by the Cohesion Fund. Since 2006 he has been the head of Environment and Industry unit at Directorate-General for Environment where he is currently in charge of the implementation of the Sustainable Consumption and Production Action Plan.

Marcus Norton joined the Carbon Disclosure Project in 2009 to launch and head up CDP Water Disclosure, a programme that will help institutional investors better understand the business risks and opportunities associated with water scarcity and other water-related issues by increasing the availability of high quality business information on this critical issue.

Marcus’ background is in corporate law (with Allen & Overy) and in government with the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs where he wrote environmental laws and advised ministers and officials on matters of EC and public law.

He holds an MA from the University of St Andrews, an LL.M from University College London and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Currently Head of Corporate Sustainability at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications. Started working with mobile phones and environment when he joined Ericsson in 1997 as Environmental Manager in the Mobile Phones business unit.

He is project leader for the Swedish branch of industry-wide system for collection and recycling of mobile phones – “retur-telefoni” – which was rolled out in 1997 and set up to prepare for the upcoming EU regulation.

He wrote the first electronics industry supplier code of conduct and introduced new requirements to reduce the energy used by the charger when connected to the grid but not charging the product (so-called no-load power consumption).

He introduced the first phone free from BFR (brominted flame retardants) in 2002.

Over the years, he has been representing the company in various industry associations and programs such as the UNEP Basel Convention MPPI (Mobil Phone Partnership Initiative), securing compliance and that the company was well prepared for WEEE and RoHS regulations.

He launched the GreenHeartTM brand in 2009 as a way to communicate environmental performance of the complete portfolio as well as the company sustainability aspirations and achievements.

Liazzat Rabbiosi is a programme officer with the Sustainable Consumption and Production Branch of UNEP’s Division of Technology, Industry and Economics. She is responsible for the implementation of the 4-year EC funded project ‘Enabling developing countries to seize eco-labelling opportunities – Capacity building and technical assistance’. The project has the objective of enhancing the environmental efficiency of export products from six target countries through helping SMEs in those countries to get their products certified with the European eco-label.

Before joining DTIE, she worked in conservation and sustainable use of natural resources - particularly water and water-related ecosystems - with UNEP’s Dams and Development Project on organizing multistakeholder dialogues around environmental and social issues of the large water infrastructure; with a consultancy firm where she participated in environmental and social impact assessment of oil and gas industry, and with a multilateral environmental agreement such as Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

She holds a MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Master in Environmental Studies from Strathclyde University in Scotland.

In Jordan he was in charge for building and environment works of Jordanian Telecom Operator as Senior Consultant of SOFRECOM Company.

Then he has been Manager of Regional Network department and Data Processing department in Bordeaux.

He has made various punctual missions abroad during his period at France Télécom Group in Indonesia, South America and Africa.

Since 2000 till now he manages the Network Standardisation in France Télécom. Pioneer of the first French Guide on Communication Network Installation he co-chairs the worldwide actor GeSI-EE IOCG (Global e-Sustainability Initiative – Energy Efficiency Inter-Operators Collaboration Group) and chairs some Standardisation groups within European Standardisation Organisations: ETSI/ATTM (Access, Terminals & Transmission and Multiplexing), CENELEC TC 215 (Installation of Communication Equipments & Networks).

Dr. Peter Saling, from Hildesheim, Germany, studied chemistry at the University of Göttingen within the groups of Prof. Schoellkopf and Prof. Tietze. After the PhD Thesis in 1993, he joined BASF in 1993. He worked in the research department for dyestuffs and was specialist for toxicological question of dyestuffs. In 1997 he changed within BASF to the division of environment, safety and energy. He started there with the development of the eco-efficiency analysis together with the German Consultant Roland Berger and Partners. He is senior scientist and was involved in the process of implementation of more than 60 studies of eco-efficiency. He was project leader for the development and integration of social aspects into the sustainability analysis named SEEBALANCE. Since 2007, Dr. Saling is the Head of Eco-Efficiency Analysis within Product Safety Regulations, Toxicology and Ecology of BASF.

Sandy has over 11 year’s knowledge of developing carbon footprinting and LCA solutions for a variety of applications and sector areas. This has been developed from his PhD in the area of Life Cycle Assessment of Civil Engineering projects and an extensive client list including Marks and Spencer, Co-operative, Balfour Beatty, WRAP, LINPAC Plastics, Allied Bakeries and Aggregate Industries to name a few. In addition, Sandy teaches Carbon footprinting and LCA at the University of Bath. Sandy also led Sustain’s involvement in the development of the PAS 2050 specification and sits on the UK technical steering group for ISO 14067.

Markus Stutz is the EMEA Environmental Affairs Manager for Dell. He is responsible for product related environmental legislation and market requirements (green public procurement as well as ecolabels), he acts as the interface to the European industry association, leads the global issue on PCF (product carbon footprint) and is the leading expert for environmental standardization. He chairs the working group on Ecodesign for BITKOM, the German ICT association.

Before joining Dell in November 2005 he was a Senior Engineer and Environmental Group Leader with the International & Environmental Technology Group of Motorola. His work covered topics such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Design for Environment (DfE), Environmentally Preferred Products, and Sustainability.

Markus has an MSc degree in Environmental Sciences from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland. During his studies he has worked for Philips and EXACT Switzerland on environmental assessment of electronic components.

Frances joined Carbon Disclosure Project in December 2007 to manage and expand the Supply Chain Project. In 2009 the Supply Chain team worked with 44 multinational companies, requesting climate change information from over 1,400 suppliers. Before joining CDP, Frances spent eight years in the finance sector, primarily in Dresdner Kleinwort’s Global Equities Division where she was responsible for communications between the European research and sales teams. Frances has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College.
